Your account and privacy

Your account is yours: one sign-in for every Aggrado product and every company you work in. This guide covers the settings on the Your account page, and what happens when you delete your account.

By Ryan Lindsey, founder of AggradoHow we write

Where to find it
On the website, select your name at the top right to open the person menu: Your account, Notification settings, Switch company (when you belong to more than one), Billing (for whoever manages the company), Help and support and Sign out. Your account shows your email address at the top. In the phone app, it is the Account tab.

Your name, time zone and language

  1. Change your name.

    Under Name, time zone and language, type it in the Name box as the people you work with should see it.

  2. Set your time zone.

    Choose it under Time zone, or choose the option to use your browser's zone. Times in emails and notices are given in this zone.

  3. Choose the language of your notices.

    Under Language, choose English or Español. It sets the language of the reminders and summaries Aggrado sends to your phone and email: the end-of-day reminders about time cards and daily reports, and the crew-card summary project managers get. Most other notices are in Spanish too; a few are still English only. The website itself stays in English.

    The phone app sets the same thing for you: it sends the language it shows (the phone's own, or the one chosen under Account › Language in the app) each time you sign in and whenever you change it.

  4. Save.

    Select Save. The page shows Saved when it is done.

Your password

Under Password, enter the New password, at least 8 characters, and select Change password. The page shows Password changed. when it is done. If you have forgotten your password, use Forgot your password? on the sign-in screen, on the website or in the phone app, to be emailed a link. Your email address cannot be changed on Your account; email support if you need it changed.

Two-step sign-in

With two-step sign-in on, signing in takes your password and then a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password. The code changes every 30 seconds, so someone who learns your password still cannot get in without your phone. It applies on the website and in the phone app, in every company you belong to. It is off until you turn it on.

  1. On the website.

    Open Your account. Under Two-step sign-in, select Set up two-step sign-in. In your authenticator app, add an account and scan the QR code on the screen. If the app can't scan, choose to enter a setup key and type the key shown under the code.

  2. In the phone app.

    Open the Account tab and tap Manage under Two-step sign-in, then Set up two-step sign-in. If the authenticator app is on the same phone, tap Open in authenticator app; otherwise type the key shown into the app on your other device.

  3. Turn it on with a code.

    Enter the 6-digit code the app now shows and select Turn on. Until a code is entered, nothing changes.

From then on, after your password you are asked for the code from the app. If a code is refused, wait for the next one and enter it; the code must be the one showing at the time. Anywhere you were already signed in with only your password (another browser, another phone) asks you to sign in again.

The same section lists each authenticator app that is set up, with the day it was added. Add another app sets up a second one, on a tablet for example, and either one's code then works. Remove takes an app off; removing the last one turns two-step sign-in off.

If you lose your phone
There are no backup codes: the code can only come from an app you set up. If you lose or reset the phone that has it, email support@aggrado.com from your account's email address. Once we have confirmed it is you, we turn two-step sign-in off so you can sign in with your password and set it up again. Your company's owners and admins cannot turn it off for you. Setting the app up on a second device while you still have the first saves that wait.

When your company asks for it

A company's owner can ask the people who work there to use two-step sign-in, on the Company settings page under Two-step sign-in: Nobody — each person chooses (the setting until an owner changes it), Owners and admins, or Everyone.

If the company asks it of you and you haven't set it up, the next time you sign in with your password you see Your company asks for two-step sign-in instead of the app, on the website and in the phone app. Set up an authenticator app there, the same way as above, then select Continue. Until you have, nothing in that company opens for you; you can still work in another company you belong to, sign out, or delete your account.

For owners
Both rules cover owners, so set up two-step sign-in for yourself first: Company settings won't save the rule until you have. Someone who loses the phone with their app is helped the same way as anyone else, through support@aggrado.com.

Notifications

Every notice appears under the bell in the app. Under Notifications on Your account (the person menu's Notification settings goes straight there) you choose which also come by Email or to your Phone, one kind of notice at a time. Changes save as you make them. The settings apply to the company you are working in.

See Notifications for the details.

Companies

Under Companies, every company you belong to is listed with your roles in it. The one you are in is marked Current; select Switch beside another to move to it, or use Switch company in the person menu. The browser remembers which one you last used.

To leave the company you are working in, select Leave with the company's name, then Leave company to confirm (Stay changes your mind). You would need a new invitation to come back.

Sign out, here or in the person menu, signs you out in that browser only. Light or dark is also kept in that browser.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, on the website or in the phone app. It cannot be undone.

  1. On the website.

    Open Your account. Under Delete your account, select Delete my account…. Type DELETE in the box and select Delete my account. You are signed out once it is done.

  2. In the phone app.

    Open the Account tab and tap Delete my account. Type DELETE and tap Delete my account. This needs signal; with none, the app says Deleting your account needs signal. Try again where there is some.

Anything not yet sent from the phone is lost
If time cards, clock entries or other work on the phone have not reached the office, the app says how many before you delete. Deleting also clears what the phone keeps for you: time cards, the clock, to-dos and punch lists. Let the phone send first if the work matters.
If you are a company's only owner
If you are the only owner of a company other people still work in, the account cannot be deleted until someone else is made an owner. The page says which company. An owner changes that on Company › Users and roles. If you are the only person in a company, you can delete your account and the company's records are left as they are.

What goes and what stays

Deleting your account removes you:

  • your sign-in, so the email and password no longer work;
  • your place in each company;
  • your notices and your notification settings;
  • invitations sent to your email address that you had not accepted.

The companies you worked for keep their own records, because the records are theirs: hours you worked, reports you wrote, approvals you gave. They keep your name as the record shows it, but they are no longer tied to an account. Questions about those records go to the company.

The Privacy Policy says how Aggrado collects and uses personal information. For anything else about your data, email support@aggrado.com, or see Support. Signed in, Help › Help and support (also in the person menu) searches the help, opens Ask Aggrado, and sends a request to our team.
