The bell
On the website, the bell in the top bar holds your notices. It appears for anyone who works in Job or Field. A number on it shows how many are unread.
- Open it.
Select the bell. The newest notices are listed, unread ones marked, each with what it is about and when it came.
- Go to what it is about.
Select a notice to mark it read and open the page it refers to.
- Clear the list.
Mark all as read marks everything read at once. Your notification settings at the bottom takes you to your settings.
The home page also shows your Recent notifications. Notices are kept for each company separately, so switching company shows that company's notices.
Choose what comes by email
- Open your settings.
Open the person menu (your name, top right) and choose Notification settings, or select Your notification settings from the bell. Both open Notifications on Your account.
- Check or uncheck each kind.
Notices are grouped under Bid, Job and Field, showing only the products you have a role in. Each Job and Field kind has three boxes: Bell, which is always on, Email and Phone. Each Bid kind has only Email. A kind you have never changed is marked Default.
Changes are saved as you make them; there is no save button. The settings apply to the company you are working in. To keep a kind of notice under the bell only, uncheck Email and Phone. Each email has an Open it in Aggrado button, and says which setting sent it.
The kinds of notice
Which notices you receive depends on your role. Among them:
- Job — threshold alerts, a site not ready for a delivery, equipment called off rent, to-dos given to you or due today, punch list items given to you or ready to check, incidents reported, job forms with a critical failure, certificates and insurance running out, people clocked out automatically, RFIs answered or past due, submittals back from review or past due back, expenses to approve, invoices past due, changes the customer asks for, and crew cards waiting for approval.
- Field — your expenses approved or turned down, hours approved for you, and reminders that today's time card or daily report isn't sent.
- Bid — proposals opened, and proposals accepted or declined.
Each kind has a short description on the settings page saying when it is sent.
Time cards waiting, and the end-of-day reminders
Time cards waiting for approval goes to project managers. It is one notice, not one for every card: when a foreman sends in a card, it says how many cards are waiting and on which jobs — for example 3 time cards are waiting for you — 2401 Hickory Ridge (2), 2419 Oak Street. When more cards come in the same notice is brought up to date rather than sending another, so your phone is told at most about twice a day. Selecting it opens the time card list, with the waiting cards at the top. Once every card is approved or sent back, the notice marks itself read.
Foremen get two reminders, Reminder: today's time card isn't sent and Reminder: today's daily report isn't sent. At the end of a working day — 5:00 pm where the company is, unless the company sets its own time — a foreman who was dispatched to a job that day, or started a time card for it, is told if the day's card or the job's daily report hasn't been sent. Tapping that reminder opens Finish the day: Aggrado's ready for today's time card on 2419 — tap to finish the day. If it still isn't sent the next morning (7:00 am unless the company sets its own time), the foreman is reminded again — Yesterday's time card for 2419 still isn't sent — and the project managers' notice says so: Yesterday: 2419's time card not sent.
- Nobody is reminded about a day nobody was dispatched and no card was started — a weekend, or a rained-out day.
- A foreman the dispatch board has off that day — off, sick, on vacation or at training — isn't reminded. One in the shop or at the yard is working, and is.
- Each reminder is sent once. Nothing is sent on a Sunday, or before 6 in the morning or after 9 at night.
- Reminders go to the phone by default. Anyone can turn a kind off, or add email, under Notification settings in the person menu.
Turning the reminders off
The reminders are on for every company until someone turns them off. Whoever manages crew time can, in Job under Settings › How your crews work, in the Foreman reminders section: uncheck Remind foremen about unsent time cards and daily reports and select Save. Then no foreman is reminded, and the project managers' morning notice leaves out what wasn't sent the day before. The same place sets the times: End of the day, from noon to 8:45 pm, and Next morning, from 6:00 to 11:45 am.
The company's time zone
“The end of the day where the company is” goes by the time zone an owner or admin sets on the Company settings page (the Company menu), under Time zone: Eastern, Central, Mountain, Arizona, Pacific, Alaska, Hawaii, or any other. Until one is set, it's the zone most of the company's people have chosen on their own account, else Eastern. The same zone decides which day counts as today for to-dos, RFIs and invoices coming due.
Notices in Spanish
The reminders and the project managers' time card notice are written in each person's language: English, or Spanish for someone who uses the phone app in Spanish or chose Español as the Language on Your account on the website — for example Aggrado está listo para la tarjeta de horas de hoy de 2419: toque para hablar, or the next morning La tarjeta de horas de ayer para 2419 sigue sin enviarse. Most other notices are written in Spanish too, among them the look-ahead, certificate and insurance, production, safety, stormwater and lien notices; a few are still in English only.
On the phone
Phone notices reach you once the Aggrado phone app is installed and signed in, and follow the Phone boxes you have set. At the foot of the Field tab's Today, Get notices on this phone asks once: tap Turn on. The app's Account › Notices chooses what reaches that phone and what's emailed too. See The phone app.
The phone also keeps your unread notices under More on Today, as Notices with the count. Tap Got it to clear one, or Mark all read to clear the list.
From the makers of Aggrado Site, sitework estimating and job management software: takeoff and crew-based bids, the won bid as the job's budget, and the crew's phone app on one record.
