The element schedule and mixes
When a won bid with an element schedule becomes a job, the mixes and the elements come across with it, whether the bid was handed off from Bid with Hand off to Job or imported in Job with File › Import › Award file…. There is no separate import on the Concrete page.
The Element schedule lists each element with its Mark, Kind, Count, Size, Mix, CY, CY with waste, and the form, rebar and finish quantities. These are the quantities the bid carried, and placed yards are measured against them. Bid pour shows how the estimator grouped the elements, and Job pours shows which planned pours each is in, or None yet.
For a job that did not come from a bid, or to add to it, select Add an element and Add a mix. A mix records its Code, Name, strength and test age, exposure classes, maximum water-cement ratio, aggregate size, slump, air and placement.
Plan the pours
Where the estimator grouped elements into pours in the bid, one planned pour is made for each group when the job is opened. Elements not in any group are left for the project manager to place.
- Plan a pour.
Under Pours, select Plan a pour. The button appears once the job has at least one element.
- Fill it in.
Enter the Name, Planned day, Mix, Planned CY, Ordered CY, Placement method, Pump, Supplier and a Note for the crew. Left blank, Planned CY takes the elements' yards with waste.
- Choose the elements.
Check them off under Elements in this pour. An element in more than one pour, such as a long wall poured in lifts, has its yards shared evenly among them. Select Add the pour.
A pour is Planned until its first truck is recorded, then Placing, then Placed when the foreman finishes it. Open a pour to Edit the pour or Cancel this pour; a canceled pour is kept, marked canceled. A pour with trucks on it cannot be canceled. A project manager can Reopen this pour after it is finished.
The discharge limit
The discharge limit is the number of minutes from batching to the end of discharge that you agreed with the producer for this job. Aggrado has no default: until it is set, trucks are not judged against a time.
- Set it.
On the Concrete page, in the Discharge limit box, select Set it (or Change), enter the minutes, between 15 and 600, and select Save. Empty the box and select Clear the limit to stop judging trucks against a time.
A truck over the limit is recorded and flagged; it is never refused. On the phone, the truck screen counts the minutes since batching and turns red once it passes the limit, and the pour shows how many trucks were over. On the website, the pour shows the number of trucks over the limit, and the Minutes column marks each one. A truck is judged only when both its batch time and its discharge-end time are recorded.
Record the trucks
On the phone, the pours for today and the coming week appear on Today under More › Pours (with a count), and on the job's screen. Open the pour.
- Add a truck.
Tap Add a truck and enter the Ticket #, Truck #, CY on this truck and Batched at (time on the ticket). Mix on the ticket starts as the pour's mix; if the ticket says otherwise, the screen warns you to check it before it goes in.
- Record the times.
Tap Now beside Arrived, Started discharge and Finished discharge as each happens.
- Record the tests and any water.
Under Tests on this truck (optional), enter the slump, air and concrete temperature. If water was added at the site, enter the gallons under Water added at the site (gal) and say Who allowed the water, which is then required.
- A load sent back.
Turn on Sent back for a truck turned away, say Why it was sent back, and add a photo of the load. Its yards are not counted as ticketed.
- Save it.
Add a Photo of the ticket and tap Save the truck. Tap a truck to change it later, or Remove this truck if it was entered by mistake.
Everything is saved on the phone and sent when there is signal. On the website, the pour's Trucks table shows every ticket with its times, water and tests. Trucks are entered on the phone; a project manager can Remove one entered by mistake there.
Samples and temperatures
- Make a sample set.
On the pour, tap Make a sample set. The screen shows a code in large type under Write this on each specimen. Choose What kind (cylinders, beams, cubes or other), enter How many specimens, the Size, which truck it came from, the tests, who made it and the lab. Tap Save the set.
- Relabel if asked.
If another phone used the same code first, the office gives the next one and the pour says Relabel these with the new code. Write it on the specimens and tap Labels corrected.
- Record temperatures and protection.
Under Temperatures, choose When (on arrival, at placement, protection on, protection off, or other), enter the air and concrete temperatures, and tap Save the temperature. The buttons Protection on, now and Protection off, now record the time in one tap.
Aggrado records the tests taken on site. Laboratory strength results are not entered in Aggrado.
Finish the pour
- Enter the yards placed.
When the last truck is in, tap Finish the pour. CY placed starts at the yards ticketed; change it to your own count. Enter Finished at, the Crew on the pour and their crew hours, all of them added (both optional), and, if needed, a note.
- Confirm.
Tap Finish the pour, then Finish it. The office sees the pour as placed. Once it is placed, trucks cannot be taken off until a project manager reopens it.
Reconciling the yards
Each pour on the website shows its yards side by side:
- Neat — the yards of the elements in the pour, as drawn. An element shared between pours is split evenly.
- Planned — the project manager's planned yards, or the elements' yards with waste.
- Ordered — what the project manager ordered.
- Ticketed — the yards on the trucks, not counting any sent back.
- Placed — the foreman's count when the pour was finished.
- Left over — ticketed less placed.
- Over neat — placed against the drawn yards, as a percentage.
- Crew hours and Hours a yard — the crew's hours on the pour, from the foreman's finish or entered on the pour with Save the crew, and those hours for each yard placed.
The top of the page totals the job: Neat, With waste, Ticketed, Placed and Elements in no pour. Each pour also flags trucks over the discharge limit, trucks with water added, and loads sent back.
